Pope Annalisa, by Peter Canova, is a multifaceted, page turning thriller on one level and a profound wisdom text on the other. Set in the year 2025, Iran is nuclear, while the Western and Islamic worlds are nearing a final clash of annihilation. Prophecies have predicted the rise of a miracle working “Great Heretic” who will bring the world order to ruin. Then Sister Annalisa Basanjo, a miracle-working African nun, emerges to become the first female pope amidst murder and betrayal.

Four people must now race against a holocaust to learn whether Annalisa will be the savior or destroyer of this harsh new world. Canova demonstrates how traditional religion and materialist science are leading the world to a spiritual grave, but the book points to a “Third Way” that integrates quantum physics, depth psychology, and a lost universal spiritual tradition.

This new vision may well be the hidden reality behind everyday appearances, a notion brilliantly exposed so as to make the reader rethink the world we take for granted. Pope Annalisa is a phenomenal read not to be missed.
