Who Does This Belong To?
By Forest Sun, Access Facilitator-CFMW
One of the questions that totally changed my life was the question “Who does
this belong to?” No one had ever bothered to ask me that…not my hippie parents,
not in the alternative schools I went to, not in any of the plethora of
spiritual books I had read…and it had never occurred to me that I was psychic.
Even in the spiritual communities I grew up in…there was no mention of the
possibility that the thoughts, feelings and emotions and bodily pain or lack of
energy I was experiencing was not mine.
The assumption for me was that these thoughts were in my head so they must be
mine…and I felt pain, discomfort and illness in my body, so it must be mine.
Logical, right? So much for logic. What if you were way more psychic than you
gave your self credit for? What if 98% of your thoughts, feelings and emotions
don’t belong to you?
Like to try an experiment? Ask, “Who does this belong to?” for every thought
feeling and emotion for three days. Every single one. Ask, “Is this mine?” You
may not have an answer, but if it gets lighter when you ask, then it’s not
yours! Return it to sender! What if you are not as depressed, sad, angry or
worried as you think you are? What if you are way more aware than you think you
are?
For body pain you can ask, “Where does this come from?” What if you and your
body were giant receivers? Like antenna picking up the consensus reality being
created all around you. Your body is designed to give you information. The
tendency is to make that information a wrongness. Oh, what’s wrong with me?
Wrong question! What information is your body trying to give you? Does it belong
to you?
I used to walk down the street and get a sudden pain in my back and go, “Oh
crap! My back’s out!” and it would be. When you buy it as yours it becomes
yours! I’d be in bed and in pain for days. Now I still receive that information
but I ask, “Where does this come from?” and it lightens up and disappears. Or I
have the awareness of what is going on for someone else’s body.
Bodies talk to each other. How cool is that? But until I acknowledged that I
have that talent and ability; I was constantly sickly, had allergies, chronic
pain in my back and stomach and tendonitis in my wrists. Any talent and ability
you have that you have not acknowledged will kick you in the butt until you do!
The problem is these kinds of talents and abilities are not talked about in our
educational systems or by our friends or family or doctors or anywhere, really.
Did you get an owners manual with your body when you came into this world? I
didn’t. Did any of your teachers ask you what you knew how to do? None of mine
did. The original meaning of the word educate comes from the Latin educare which
means, “to pull out”. How great would it be to have teachers that encourage and
ask questions for each being to access what they know and what they can do and
how they can improve it! Not fill you full of useless information and dull and
anesthetize and homogenize and invalidate you so you’ll be just like everyone
else. So you’ll fit in and be easy to control.
Just having a few simple tools can create a huge shift in your life. The
question, “Who does this belong to?” did that for me, and for that I am
immensely grateful. So next time you feel bogged down with heaviness and find
yourself thinking, oh my life is such a mess…ask, “Who does this belong to?”
