A New Way To Help Your Allergies
by Dr. Cass Ingram

Cupboard
It’s ah…ah…allergy season again. Soon, wastebaskets throughout America will be buried under mountains of soggy tissues as tens of millions of allergy victims race to pharmacies and drugstores to buy medicines to stop their maddening nasal drip-drip-drip and halt their uncontrollable bursts of sneezing.
But antihistamines and decongestants can cause drowsiness, which can be very dangerous if you drive. Additionally, side effects resulting from prescription medication such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea do not need to be added to the list of symptoms already making you feel horrible. And according to labels, many medications will actually make your allergy symptoms worse if taken longer than a few days.
Is there a better way to make it through the sneezin’ season safely and comfortably?
The answer is ‘yes’. In fact, the reason for your allergies is two fold and the solution to your allergy woes may be as near as your own kitchen pantry.
Allergies play an enormous role in lung and respiratory problems, and sometimes even play the predominant role. There are many diseases that are presumed infectious, but may in fact, be due to food allergies.
Allergenic foods have a major impact upon the function and health of the lungs. They cause a significant degree of toxicity, possibly even more than airborne allergens. Some common symptoms that result from a food allergy are: runny nose, sinus infections, bronchitis, sneezing spells, and sore throat. Most of these are often regarded as symptoms of airborne allergies.
Strangely enough, even the most wholesome foods can be toxic if you are allergic to them. The toxic aspects directly poison the immune system while leaving the body vulnerable to infection and disease. Therefore, continuous intake of foods that the body is allergic to could be a major cause for chronic disease.
Talk to your doctor about a food intolerance test. This could be your best remedy against these ailments. But if you suffer from airborne allergens, look to your spice rack for help.
You might be surprised to find that you won’t have to take a trip to the drugstore.
Many ‘hot’ spices and their extracts, like oil of oregano, are powerful tools for opening clogged sinus passages, halting mucus secretion, and taming allergy symptoms.
One reason hot and spicy herbs and oils help alleviate allergy symptoms is because they kill fungus, a hidden culprit behind many so-called “allergic reactions.”
Most people incorrectly assume they are allergic to pollen, dust, or animals but what they experience is a reaction to fungus in their sinuses. The sneezing, runny nose, and sinus inflammation are not allergic reactions, but immune system reactions.
Thousands of kinds of single-cell fungi (molds and yeasts) are found everywhere in the world. Fungal spores (the reproductive part of the organism) become airborne like pollen. Some people develop allergies to fungi, and for others fungi triggers an immune system response while simultaneously reducing the immune system’s ability to fight off other invaders like dander, dust, and pollen.
To help lessen sneezing, watering eyes, and shrink that mountain of Kleenex overflowing the trashcan, use these simple tips for surviving the sneezin’ season naturally:
1. Allergy symptoms vanish when you kill the fungus. If your eyes and nose water during allergy season, apply some wild oregano oil near your nose and place some drops under your tongue.
2. Wash your hands often. Put a few drops of oil of oregano in pump soap. Bar soap tends to collect bacteria if left in the open air in bathrooms. If using bar soap, add the oil directly on the soap
3. Drink plenty of water. A few drops of oregano oil in water will fight congestion.
4. Stick with soups and juices.
5. Crude raw honey assists in the release of mucous, is a natural immune tonic, and helps soothe sore throats while preventing or halting coughs.
6. Avoid nasal sprays. They cause damage to the sinus membranes.
