What Category Do You Belong?
From Quarta Via
In the tradition of the Lovers of Truth we are told that, at the time when souls were created, before bodies, they were asked by what means they would prefer to travel in this world. They were divided into four groups.
FIRST GROUP: The souls in this group wanted to travel on foot, as they felt this to be the safest way.
SECOND GROUP: Those in this group wanted horses, so as not to tire themselves out.
THIRD GROUP: The third group wanted to travel on the wings of the wind, to surpass all obstacles.
FOURTH GROUP: In this group they chose light, which would allow them not only to move, but also to understand.
These four groups still exist. All those who aspire to higher knowledge belong to one or other of these categories. The walkers are limited by space and speed: they are imitators. The riders are those who rely on books, and are guided by the horse of the author’s beliefs. Those in the third category are like leaves that fly here and there, depending on the wind. The fourth group are the Lovers on the Way. From a study point of view, the first cling to seductive and limited cults; the second to the propagandistic ideas of fervent zealots; the third adhere to systems selected or invented by themselves, picking up a bit here, a bit there. The fourth are the Lovers on the Way. We can measure their capacity according to the way in which they have chosen to travel. Those in the first group are interested in all that appears to them to be techniques; those in the second in exciting stories and ideas; those in the third wander from one thing to the next; those in the fourth group recognize the true reality.
