A New Beginning…New Year’s — 2007
Did you know that New Year’s Day is considered one of the most celebrated holidays on a global scale? For the most part, New Year’s brings a sense of hope and promise to society as a whole. People world-over make resolutions to better their lives; whether it be losing weight, stop smoking, being kinder to their friends and family or finding prosperity. It is a focused effort to become better people and live a more rewarding life.
How many of us just can’t wait until it arrives so that we can leave behind the past year of struggle, uncertainly and perhaps heartache? What plans do we have in store for our self-improvement and self-empowerment?
And what about the past? How can we stop repeating the same cycle we just finished in 2006 and leap into a new era of wondrous possibilities? What does 2007 hold for us that 2006 failed to deliver?
Good questions…ones that take more than just a cursory preview. In order to step into a new reality (a new year) perhaps it would be wise to take some time for reflection on what caused our challenges prior to 2007 and did we learn anything in the process.
Just because we change a year does not mean our lives will evolve differently as well. Millions of resolutions are made on New Years day to do and be better and find a much improved life; yet research shows that by March, if not sooner, those resolutions disappear into the cosmos and we continue on the same habitual path that we were on prior to 2007.
Resolutions take serious commitment in order to alter the path we travel. We must be willing to do the work necessary to understand our behavioral patterns; to discover the true underlying issues that prevent us from a rewarding life of joy, peace, harmony and love.
If we don’t change our behavior from 2006, then how can we expect a different outcome in 2007? By true reflection of our past year and how it enfolded its matrix into our lives we can re-evaluate and move beyond our previous actions and truly find 2007 a year of great potential and one of life altering changes.
What promise does the New Year hold in store for you? Only you can answer this. Remember, whatever we have faced and learned in 2006 will allow us the opportunity to move beyond limitations and begin a new chapter of hope and promise of better things to come.
May 2007 be more than just a new beginning. May it be an adventure of great proportions. Live life fully and watch the world change.
Happy New Year my friends, many blessings in 2007!
