About this month's cover artwork:
About The Painting: “Peace on Earth” was created as art for my personal holiday cards. I wanted to create something in the style of early Northern Renaissance paintings which usually depicted angels with beautiful multi-colored wings inspired by various birds such as parrots and peacocks. The angel represents the Earth being in the care of forces other than human and a wish for peace throughout the world.
About The Artist: Meredith Dillman is a fantasy artist and illustrator living in Minnesota. Most of her paintings are created with watercolor. She enjoys painting fairies, woodland creatures and other fantasy and medieval themes and has been drawing such since childhood. She is inspired by Pre-Raphaelite artists, Japanese comics, and turn-of-the-century book illustration as well as contemporary fantasy artists. Meredith graduated from Minnesota State University with a BFA degree in Illustration. Her graduation project was illustrating Christina Rossetti’s poem Goblin Market. Meredith’s art has since been published in role playing games, magazine, the books “Watercolor Fairies”, “Fairy Motifs”, “How to Draw and Paint Fairies”, and seen at art shows across the country.
