Sondra Ray on Rebirthing

An Interview

Sondra Ray is known as one of the most eclectic spiritual leaders of the day. She is recognized throughout the world as a spiritual teacher, author, rebirther, lecturer, and healer.

Ray was launched into international acclaim in the 1970s as one of the pioneers of the Rebirthing Experience. She has trained thousands of people all over the world and is considered one of the foremost experts on how the birth trauma affects one’s body, relationships, career and life. As she puts it, this breathing process produces extraordinary results because as one takes in the light, all else is revealed and let go of; thus one’s heart is open to receive love, peace and joy. She is currently updating and refining the process to a whole new level to produce faster results. 

She is also known for her training sessions, some of which include: Loving Relationships Training (also known as LRT), Rebirths, Rejuvenation, Cooperation, and Sacred Relationships as well as seminars on the Teachings and Aspects of the Divine Mother. 

Sondra has taken these seminars and trainings across the globe to countries such as England, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Poland, Sweden, Russia, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Bali and Japan. She also takes groups to India for annual pilgrimages. 

Sondra currently has a private healing practice in Marina Del Rey, California. People who have the experience of working directly with her as a breath worker, spiritual teacher, and healer say it has saved them years in their spiritual life process. They say she has the gift of helping one move out of pain quickly and into the experience of the celebration of life. She also conducts weekly meditations in her home that include teaching, prayer, chanting and meditation. She utilizes her 25 years of study with the Immortal Masters.


ILT: Sondra, to many, you are the top rebirther in the nation. What got you started in this field? 

SR: Well, my hair was falling out and I became so desperate because I could not get help in my own field of medicine. Then, I actually had a mystical experience where a voice called me to California. I started having car accidents a lot and I continued to experience pain in my body which began l5 years ago since my father died. So I was more or less a mess. I ended up in the first EST trainings that existed and one night I was crying at a seminar and these guys asked me what was wrong and I told them all of the above. They told me there was a new guru in town. I said “I will try anything” So luckily I became part of the great experiment where Leonard Orr, the “Father of Rebirthing” was looking for volunteers to try this new healing modality called “rebirthing.” I was one of the first he experimented on with Rebirthing. My pain disappeared in three sessions and has not returned. I stopped having car accidents and after a year my hair even grew back
