I have a question. Who are you? Who do you think you are? Why are you here?

For eons humanity has sought answers to these age-old questions. Philosophers, Shamans, Sages, seekers of all faiths and beliefs, have all taken up the quest to discover what lies beneath these queries.

My next question is, why don’t we recognize who we are? What inside us lies so hidden that we continue to thirst after what we feel is a mystery?

Of course with all this questioning I have come to the conclusion that it is the mystery that motivates us to keep searching for the box that holds the keys to understanding, wisdom and enlightenment.

Each and every one of us are spiritual beings, that is who we are. Now who we “think” we are is the other side of the coin. When we engage the mind, rather than the heart, in the process of self-discovery we will get a composite of all our life’s experiences which will filter the truth of “who we are.” Thinking is an intellectual method of arriving at a certain conclusion. As a result, we then begin to believe our thought processes to be the true measure of our essence.

Yet, on the other hand, when we connect from a heart space we can move beyond the filter of the mind and recognize that we are more than just a physical body concerned with always doing. We are in reality a part of an all encompassing force and energy that needs nothing more than to just “be”.

It is our ego mind that creates our many masks to declare to the world, “this is who I am.”

Perhaps that is one of the reason we are here…to remove our masks of self-illusion and recognize that the understanding, wisdom and enlightenment that we seek is already a part of “who we are.”
