Happy Thanksgiving my friends. As we now begin the holiday season we are given an additional opportunity to express our love, our gratitude and our life’s experiences.

After seventeen years, In Light Times is on the fast tract of change. You may have noticed the new sections, the new looks we have incorporated within the paper. This month we have expanded our pages and launched the QRG. Soon we will have more locations to pickup the paper as well.

Life is all about growth and our relationship to the changes that come about as a result.

For instance, do you remember the story about a man who was in danger of drowning and as he sat on the roof of his house he prayed to God to save him? In the meantime a helicopter flew by to rescue him and he said “no thanks, God is going to save me.” He continued to plea with God for help. Shortly thereafter a motorboat came to his aid and once more he turned them away. “I’m waiting for God to rescue me.” Eventually the man drowns and approaches God, asking why he didn’t save him. God’s answer, “What more could I do, I sent you a helicopter and a boat and you refused!”

I can so relate to this story as I found myself on the rooftop of life asking for help. In the process of putting the paper together it was lost due to the file becoming damaged. When it first happened the file would open with an error code and I promptly shut it down and tried to reopen it. After 45 times it finally stopped opening and all was lost. Eventually I had to rebuild the paper from scratch.

The lesson here is that when you ask for help, don’t put restrictions on how or what that help looks like. Be ready to accept the assistance when presented as it saves time and much frustration. 

Through this event I have grown and learned once more the value of paying attention to the little (and not so little) incidences in life.
We all experience ups and downs; however, that is where our growth takes root and our strengths evolve. We all live extraordinary lives and seem to be on the cutting edge of new changes, new hopes and dreams.

Let us take the challenges we face each day and find the silver-lining…a reason to be grateful.

As our holidays unfold let us all remember that we are the expression of love in action. Gratitude and prayer are powerful vibrations, tools, to bring changes that have silver-linings. May all your days be filled with the spirit of love, joy, gratitude and giving.
