Okay,
now I know that you may be saying, gee I have some of those things right now,
why bother. The difference between what you have now and what you receive
through the Kundalini practice is constancy. These abilities are no longer
random but always with you. Much like a cedar grows, so will you as you develop
through this practice. A
cedar tree begins with a little seed. It is buried in the earth and can be there
for years or even centuries until the right conditions exist for it to
germinate. Then it begins throwing out roots to anchor it into the soil and
eventually it sprouts its little head out into the world so everyone can see it
and it can see everyone. Eventually over years it develops a sturdy trunk
branching out to touch the world. It adjusts to the cycles of life, the strong
winds, heavy rains, droughts, blistering heat and freezing snow. But it
continues to grow and with each year it becomes bigger, stronger, steadier and
more secure in its place within the world. So too will you. You
will begin, as I have getting up as early as you can. (The Swami suggests
getting up before sunrise – when only the birds are waking and there is less
interference from outside influences.) You will sit in your almost Lotus
position, (perhaps like me cheating a little sitting on a memory foam pillow –
they are fabulous – every yogi should have one,) in a quiet room praying to
the Mother Goddess Kundalini, careful attention to your breathing and drumming
her awake with your chant of Lum, Vum, Rum, Yum, Hum, and Om. No one will see
you or see the difference in you yet, but in time others will notice. In time
the peace and love you feel inside will pour from your eyes, hands, feet and
your heart and uplift everyone. First touching a small radius and eventually a
large one. In time there will be no shift of season that you will rail against
or attach to, because your steady trunk will set the balance. And eventually you
will feel strength and reach out to others smiling as you note all the forest
