About this month's cover:

Painting Title: Athena.

I painted Athena because of her connection with the owl which represents wisdom and morality. Owls are truly amazing creatures with their silent all-knowing looks and calls that pierce the night as if to say "unafraid". Owl can see that which others cannot. The owl is sacred to Athena and shares the goddess's attributes. They seem to mirror each other. Athena also seems unafraid, a warrior goddess of keen intelligence and protector of children.

Artist bio - Ancient cultures, myth and magick are the basic core elements that inspire my artwork. Fascinated with symbolic mythology, I try to weave a bit of symbolism into every painting. I want to create artwork that draws the viewer in, unfolding and revealing its meaning slowly.

The romantic drama of the Pre-Raphaelites has always mesmerized me. My love of the medieval era with its art, history, peoples and legends influence not only my artwork but also crosses over into my everyday life. Not only is my persona Celtic, but my family heritage is also Celtic.
