My Dear Friends, thank you. I am eternally grateful for all your prayers, support and get well wishes while in the hospital.
If it weren’t for you and my three Guardian Angels, Chuck, Eugenia and Kathryn I would not be here today.
My life has forever changed. On July 24, 2002 I began an incredible two-week adventure that would take me into a world of delirium sprinkled with only brief moments of sanity. It was a time when life and death did a balancing act…awaiting the outcome of a decision only I could make. Little did I know the profoundness of this last “wake-up” call.
Upon arriving home the evening of August 6th, Spirit began interweaving the missing pieces of this most fragile puzzle. Soon I discovered that I truly had been poised at death’s door and did want to go through. In fact, there were those on the other side waiting to greet me. Guess you would call it a NDE — without the tunnel.
Suffice it to say, life won out and I made the choice to stay. Yes, I had severe
pancreatitis. Yes, I had a blood sugar level of 600(normal is 80-120) and yes, I had a near death experience. Yet, through it all, one of the most important lessons I learned is that I am loved and supported.
There is no doubt that prayer and all your concerns helped me make my decision. I absolutely know that had not Kathryn, Gina and Chuck kept vigil, holding my hand and encouraging me, you would not be reading this today.
There is still much to discover from this journey. As time goes by, little bits of information float in and out of my consciousness. I am experiencing heightened awareness on all levels. Perceptions, especially as we become more mature, expand with life altering events.
We are all vulnerable to our own humanity. Many times in the course of my years I was told that the body is a temple and to take care of it. In my younger days, and even until July 24th, I often ignored that advice. And today, I am grateful to a body that has carried me as well as it has even with all the abuse. If there is one thing I do know, nothing in life should be taken for granted. The smallest of wonders, the beauty of a sunset, the sweet smell of flowers, butterflies, friends and family. Your mate, a smile, love — all these have been loaned to us by a Source greater than the whole. Let us take care that we always remember the meaning of life, love and our existence.
Thank you for the opportunity to share with you an important milestone in my life. Please know that as you continue to hold me in your prayers I hold each one of you in mine.
