Spirit…Stallion of the Cimarron

Billed as the ‘first great western of the 21st century’ Spirit actually delivers, oddly enough, as a western, told from the perspective of a leader of a band of wild horses, with Matt Damon doing an impeccable, touching voiceover for Spirit. Although animated, it is big screen worthy.

METAPHYSICAL OVERVIEW
 Although a completely anthropomorphic rendition of the influx of Europeans into the West, the statement is made again with a pleasant twist.

Bad Company

In elegant and fine style, Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock, with excellent chemistry to make it work, deliver a polished, hilarious and professional romp through international intrigue action adventures with some dark overtones. The opening credits run with somber, although not ominous, music, as the cameras pan over spectacular architectural and street scenes of Prague—Eastern Europe’s’ Hollywood outpost.

Jerry Bruckheimer, Stilking and Touchstone collaborated on this film, distributed by Buena Vista (Disney).

METAPHYSICAL OVERVIEW
 A bit heavy in spots as is life, but the comedy helps as they explore familial obligation and patriotism.

Minority Report

This thriller with Tom Cruise, supported by Max Von Sidow and Jessica Capshaw is a Stephen Spielberg science fiction at its finest. Dreamworks distributed this 20th Century Fox, Amblin, Cruise-Wagner, Blue Tulip collaboration.

METAPHYSICAL OVERVIEW
If one is to police a society, one must be willing to be subject to the same criteria by which all are judged. Also, there is no destiny — one can change their world every moment with insight and intention, gracefully navigating the most difficult obstacles.
