Words Create By Sonia Choquette, Ph.D. In teaching people to manifest their heart's desire, one of the things I emphasize the most is the power of expression in creating your life. The truth is we are creative geniuses and our subconscious mind is programmed to obey absolutely and without question all that we suggest to it. The two most creative and potentially powerful words we can utter to the subconscious mind are the words "I AM". When we say, "I am" we are commanding the Universe to bow before us and manifest all we utter. Therefore if we say "I am tired, our bodies, which respond to the orders of our subconscious mind will say, "OK. You ordered tired. Here's tired." The same holds true for I am sick. I am poor. I am lonely. I am unhealthy. As well as I am happy. I am invigorated. I am loved and lovable. In other words, your expression claims the truth of who you are, A divine Spiritual being made in the image and likeness of God, a Universal God or Goddess in your own right. Whatever you command will come to pass, good or bad, when using the magic words "I AM", if you invoke them consistently enough. Knowing this, you can direct your words to create your life specifically to fit your desires. Also know that whether or not you choose to consider yourself a Divine being does not change the fact your expression is still a magic wand and will create what you invoke. Like it or not. Fifteen years ago, my husband Patrick decided he didn't want to continue to damage his health by smoking, and decided to quit. An avid smoker since the age of fourteen, even rolling his own cigarettes, this decision presented quite a challenge. What he did was to use the power of his words. Every day, whenever he wanted a cigarette, he took in a deep breath, and said to himself, "I prefer health." Also, whenever anyone offered him a cigarette, which was constant, as we were surrounded by lots of smokers at the time, he simply said, "No thank you, I am a non-smoker." And from the day he decided to quit, he was a non-smoker. When I asked him if it was difficult, he said, "No. Why should I create it being difficult by telling myself it is? As a non-smoker it takes no effort at all." I was so impressed at how he managed to break a twenty year habit with a simple decision and the power of his words that, I too, decided to quit. Using the same method, I also kicked the habit in a day. We've both been smoke free ever since. The best way to take advantage of your creative and healing power is to practice invoking exactly what you desire through the use of affirmation. The subconscious mind, which executes your creative orders, responds best to repeated statements-to what you dwell on. Create simple statements that affirm exactly what you want and repeat them over and over. Another way to invoke the power of expression is to create affirming songs, and sing them over and over. The reason this works so well is that when you sing an affirmation, you engage the power of the heart chakra as well, and when you bring these two into alignment, you release one of the most powerful forces on Earth. I had a client, a stockbroker, who sang "Life is such a honey because I so easily make money." Not exactly poetry to be sure, but it worked. He did make money. Another client, car-less and sick of public transportation, took my suggestion and on a whim began to sing "I'm going far in my new car, car car!" Six months later, a good friend at night school said he was leaving for a year abroad and asked her if she would like to car-sit his 1997 Toyota Camry while he was gone. She answered by literally singing "Yes, yes, yes!" Expression is the mouthpiece for how we want our lives to be. Life doesn't happen to us although it may feel as though it does. The truth is we decide how our lives are going to be. It is 100% up to us. We are that powerful. And the magic wand that makes it happens is our expression. It is so simple and so easy that it is hard to believe. And yet, it is true. When we fully realize that we are spiritual creators, made in the image of our creator, life does become our dream. Remember expression has to do with, learning, connection and creation. As we fly into the twenty-first century, it is time that what we speak is what we create. This is what expression is all about.
