In the blinking of an eye 2001 has ended and we are about to embark upon a new year. As with all new beginnings it is the anticipation of a fresh start...that things will be better. Perhaps it's just a matter of being tired of the same old cycles that make us feel this way. Whatever the reason isn't it exciting to look forward to what 2002 has in store for us? Of course we are the ones responsible for what happens. Our choices, our growth from events in the previous year and our altered perceptions will dictate our roles on the stage of life. I have said it before, we are the directors, the writers and the actors. We actually star in our own life's experience. When we write the script for the day what does it look like? Is it filled with humor or laughter? Do the pages have so much drama that we take ourselves so serious and find that we are worn out at the end of the day? Within the pages have we written a scenario so tragic that we find ourselves unable to recover? What type of script do we write? Where do we stand each morning as we begin our day? I know these are not questions we necessarily ask ourselves - or at least in that way. As 2001 fades into the recesses of our minds and 2002 becomes our current reality bear in mind that we are the directors of what happens. Taking responsibility for our own script and directing our days to the best of our abilities helps us interface with a world on the brink of evolutionary growth. I believe that as we become more conscious of our moment by moment experiences that we will be able to see all the opportunities presented because we are not looking beyond, into the future. We are experiencing the now, the present. Awareness brings understanding. Being within a situation as it happens, embracing it with totality can enrich our lives on so many levels. Director, writer, actor - we are the ones who can make a difference. So, as we write our scripts and decide how to direct our day, may we truly become the stars of the stage...may Earth and her people rediscover their purpose. One last thought. If you were to ask yourself about a current situation, "is what I am doing feeding my soul, uplifting my spirit and making me feel good" what would your answer be? If the answer is "no" then perhaps it is time to make a different choice. Honor yourself and you honor all of humanity. Happy New Year!
