Releasing Fear To Find Freedom
By Jim Self
Would you consider yourself free? What is freedom really? The ability to choose your own work hours? The ability to come and go as you please with no accountability to anyone? We chose these bodies at this time of great diversity and variety and opportunity in order to experience MORE freedom. And even though we live in a country, on a planet of abundant variety, very few of us ever experience true freedom. We think we do, but we are continually being affected by limiting patterns that were never ours to begin with.
From the moment we are conceived, we begin to make choices based on data not our own. We begin to choose to make life easy, rather than make life ours. How do we do this? For our "best welfare" and out of "love" we are offered someone else's idea of the healthiest food, most attractive clothing, best medical care, most accepted behavior and the safest emotional expression. We are offered these ways of creating life with the best intentions from our well-experienced family and culture. For our best welfare. Out of love. Guaranteed to make us happy and successful, lovable, healthy and free. Right? Why do we continue to follow the rules we were raised with and still not experience what we were told we would? Because we are afraid to do otherwise. Those theories of happiness and success belong to our parents and family, our religions and culture. And to begin to live other than what we've been told can be scary. We, as spirits, are capable to do, be, have and create absolutely anything. And we are. We are such free spirits, we are creating our lives in the image of someone else's. And we are doing it very, very affectively.
Remember when you were a child and you could spend the entire afternoon under a card table fantasizing about life and creating worlds? Notice the children around you now. Look into the face of an infant and you will find an eagerness like no other. So what is keeping us from this joy? Fears. Fears based on someone else's beliefs. Fears have so affected our lives that the choices we make are greatly influenced by our fears, not our freedoms. How do we get back to the eagerness, the trust and faith we had as children? We must release these fears that were never even ours.
We can begin by asking ourselves some questions. What would you BE if you could have complete freedom? Would you like to BE HOME? It's funny - it's the BEing who we are that brings us what we want. Works every time. When you are BEing connected, as a little eager child is, that's when you receive your dreams. The more we experience our BEingness, the less fear we experience. The more we experience our BEingness, the freer we actually feel, no matter the circumstances. Sounds pretty simple, and it is. We're so conditioned to believe that we must work HARD for anything of value that when we are offered simple tools to change our lives, most of us don't believe it and turn away.
Once you can get to this vibration of freedom, see if you can hold it for a few seconds. Add a few other intentional tools to it and youíll have all the information you need to release the belief patterns and fears that have kept you from creating your life as fully and freely as you desire. And you know what? The Universe, with all it's wise abundance, is right there, ready and waiting for you to ASK. What would you ASK for, if you knew you would RECEIVE everything you wanted? §
