Our
Relationships With Light & Color by
Dr. Annette Patterson Humans
have an intimate relationship with light and color. Color touches every
area of our lives, and increases the strength, the balance and the harmony
of our being on all levels—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. The
entire known universe is comprised of electromagnetic energy. On one end
of the electromagnetic spectrum are the short, ultraviolet energy waves,
which can be used for killing germs, sun tanning and more. On the other
end of the spectrum are the longer waves known as infrared energy waves,
radio waves, heat rays, etc. That which can be seen with the human eye,
falls directly in the middle of the electromagnetic spectrum. All
seemingly solid objects in our world, including our bodies, are made up of
this same electromagnetic energy. The more dense the energy, the more
solid an object seems. Daniel
E. Patterson, of Stellar Research Corporation, explains, ”Light
is the closest thing to pure energy that we can identify, so it follows,
we have the ability to modify our energetic composition with its use.”
Light can be broken down into numerous electromagnetic frequencies, and
each frequency relates to a color of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow,
green, blue, indigo, violet, and all the variations thereof. Each of our
organs and energy centers (Chakras) vibrate and harmonize with the
frequencies of these colors. Color
Therapy and Chromopathy treatments utilize color to effect a change and
balance the body’s organs, as well as the many layers of the body’s
energy field. Some of the modalities used in Color Therapy are,
Hydrochromopathy, Color Dressing with Intent, Nutritional Chromotherapy,
Color Breathing, Color Visualization, and Active and Passive Color Therapy
using the LivingStoneTM System. Since
ancient times, light and color have been used to heal the body. In fact,
light and color therapy was the first healing modality recorded. The
Incas, for example, believed that looking at the sun in the early morning
would heal the body and provide longevity. The Egyptians were also known
to sun gaze, and believed that looking at the sun would heal the body,
awaken the mind, and allow a person to remember not only past history but
past lifetimes as well. The
work of Jacob Liberman, O.D., Ph.D., has scientifically proven that light
is responsible for turning on the brain and the body. Light enters the
body through the eyes and skin. When even a single photon of light enters
the eye, it lights up the entire brain. This light triggers the
hypothalamus, which regulates all life-sustaining bodily functions, the
autonomic nervous system, endocrine system, and the pituitary (the
body’s master gland). The hypothalamus is also responsible for our
body’s biological clock. It also sends a message, by way of light, to
the pineal organ, which is responsible for releasing one of our most
important hormones, Melatonin. The release of Melatonin is directly
related to light, darkness, colors, and the Earth’s electromagnetic
field. This necessary hormone affects every cell in the body. It turns on
each cell’s internal activities, allowing them to harmonize with each
other and nature. The Pineal Gland is believed to be responsible for our
feeling of oneness with the universe and sets the stage for the
relationship between our inner being and the environment. If that
relationship is harmonious, we are healthy, happy, and feel a sense of
well-being. An imbalance in this relationship makes itself known in the
form of disorders or dis-ease in our physical, mental or emotional states.
The Pineal is our “light meter” so to speak, and receives information
from the heavens above, to give us that sense of oneness with the
universe, and from the Earth’s electromagnetic field below to keep us
grounded. A perfect balance is necessary to maintain our health, and to
keep us in harmony with the environment. In
my work, I have used light and color, both physically and mentally, to
affect clients/students and myself in physical, psychological, emotional
and spiritual ways. It has been quite effective. My continued research on
this alternative healing method never fails to fascinate me! Light
and color give us a sense of well-being. Can light and color also assist
in our enlightenment? I believe so! Add Color to your life! To learn more about individual colors and their known effects, call for a free report, The Power Of Color Therapy, by Dr. Annette M. Patterson, 702-260-0860. |
