Mercury
has indeed gone retrograde, and at no time have I felt it greater than
the 23rd of June. With 3/4 of the paper complete, the file, (which I
did not back-up), became damaged and I had to rebuild, from scratch
the whole paper. I assure you I was not in the best frame of mind.
However, here it is Monday and the paper is finished... or will be
upon the completion of this editorial. I
have been doing this paper for 12 years and I KNOW back-up is vital -
yet I failed to see the signs. The application program kept quitting
time after time, and I was in such a state of being done I did not
recognize the warnings. If I had, you would most likely be reading
this month's issue as of June 26th. What
I find interesting in this scenario is the "back-up" part or
lack thereof. So, what is all this saying? Well, I'm not sure, or not
telling; however, when I do know perhaps there will be a space for
sharing. No seriously, when something like this happens it affords the
opportunity to do some correlation processing. By honestly examining
the events, I can see where I must work on myself ... again! It also
reminds me not to take for granted the many blessings that are
received every moment. Sometimes,
in the complacency of life, there is a space in time where the
universe brings forth an opportunity to go outside the comfort zones
we have established. I
believe that, as human beings, the dramas and challenges that we
script into our lives are merely our means in which to grow.
Complacency, in itself, is but a challenge to our Spirit. What would
our lives be like if everything ran smoothly? Would we discover who we
truly are; would we discover our strengths and weaknesses? I think
not. Yes, welcoming less "challenging events" sounds great...
yet, my soul clamors to live life on the edge. So, you see,
complacency is not a place I chose to be at this time. By the way, there is a silver lining to the above story, I had printed out most of the pages for proofing. Therefore, I had some guidelines and it did not take as long as it would have. Yes, there is the positive side if one has the presence of mind to see. Look for the good in all things, and that good will manifest a thousand fold. May your Fourth of July be a celebration of your life's journey. Take
care. Michelene |
