The Oak tree is considered the most
powerful and most sacred of the trees to the Celtic peoples. It holds the true alignment
of balance, purpose and strength. In the cycle of the year, the Moon of Oak also poses the
essence of power and balance. In truth, She is androgynous. Being integrated, this moon
essence provides the greatest alignment for manifesting our goal.
Oak Mother's Celtic name is Duir. It means door and
is derived from the word Druid or Druidess, the Celtic person who has mastered memory,
intuition, healing, knowing and magic.

The Oak Mother provides the
essence of assuredness, love, and care for her offspring. She is pro-nurturing and calls
you to understand how you use this energy at the time when you have given birth to your
potential. Like the mother who has just delivered her child to the world, you are called
to watch the growth, care for the needs of your child, and love the child no matter what
course s/he has to walk to develop, mature, and express in whole-ness. Let this be so as
you nurture your goal in the world.
Look about you during this month. What creative aspects of yourself
have you birthed? Are you nurturing them? And are you integrating your potential into all
aspects of yourself: spiritually, mentally, physically, through your ego, by listening to
the voice of your soul? Use a journal to express the answers to these questions. If you
find that you are not doing anything, then ask yourself what you want to birth, how you
will nurture your creativity and integrate it into all of your aspects? Be strong, wise
and willing.
Doors of opportunity are here and now in your world. Duir, Moon Mother
of Oak, provides you with the strength to open the doors and utilize the openings to step
into the experiences that will bring fulfillment, purpose, and your creative pleasure. As
you look at the doors before you, adjust any energy that would stop you from walking
through those doors without your strength and purpose. This is your opportunity to use the
Universal energies present in the world to bring you to the moment of balance and
direction for manifesting your heart's desires.
The people you meet during this month will be supportive. But are they
supporting your empowerment or are they supporting your old patterns? Notice how they
assist you. Do you feel they help you in the way you need? If so, give gratitude. If not,
tell the truth and let them know what you really require, for in that way they can give
useful assistance. Oak Moon Mother provides you with the strength to tell the truth, live
in your personal power, and share life with others through that strength of your genuine
self.
Through the essence of your genuine self, you will also assist others
without the need to "make them" what they "should" be. You will simply
be able to listen, communicate, and express your care and encouragement as they manifest
their potential. It is important that you honor their position of creative expression. In
that way, the true empowerment of ap-preciation occurs in all peoples, and the knowing
that we all are here for the purpose to help each other can occur.
On the Isle of Avalon a community of women existed. They were scholars,
healers, and walkers between the worlds. They were all Priestesses, Magicians and
Hierophants and guided the people who populated the mainland. They worked together, seldom
apart. They all shared in the creating of the basic needs for all to live in shared
comfort and warmth. They gathered firewood and stones for the hearth. They cooked
nourishing foods and delighted in serving their mead at feast times. They honored the sun
and they celebrated the moon. Their way of life was rhythm and harmony. They spoke to the
animals, the trees and stones. Nothing was left without a name or a home, for the women
remembered all life is expression of the Great One: WomanSpirit.
The women of the Isle each carried their own gift. Some danced, others
sang, and still others claimed the talent of teaching the wisdom of natural law, the power
of expressing magic to all. Some were good at managing, others good at gardening, and
others better at preparing events. Some gave way to leading, others to listening, and
others yet to allowing visions to direct their daily call. No matter what their talent, no
matter what their gift, all were honored in the same way, for all knew they were equal. So
each woman listened within and heard the voice of her soul direct her days so she could
honor the sacred ways. Each shared their talent and allowed the talent of their sisters to
guide and help them on their path. There was no talent too large, no talent too small, all
talents were utilized by all. So the sister who gardened gave away her food. The sister
who taught gave away her wisdom. The sister who sang gave away her song. Those who could
not sing embellished their lives from the song that came from their sister. Those who
could not garden reaped the reward of food in their belly and nourishment to their body.
Those who could not teach received wisdom and guidance to live their lives to the fullest.
All honored, respected and utilized the talents of each other. They knew that this was the
way of the Great Goddess. The gift of Oak Moon Mother is that of revealing the talents of
each child of the Universe and having them share their talents so not a single person is
burdened, not a single person is without.
Oak Moon Mother provides great affluence as she reigns in our night
sky. She provides abundance, strength, empower-ment, nurturing, companionship and rewards.
She presents the world with the essence of fertility, the power to manifest, and the
capacity to create the world that one needs for success. She provides the essence of
balance: work and play, action and rest, speaking and silence.

In the Sky Path of August
Holly brings you the joy of knowing how to continue your journey,
express your talents, and share the triumph of who you are, for in this expression you
reveal the Divine.
By now, if you are allowing yourself to align with the path of the
moon, you have been gifted with energy to help you manifest your desires. You, in fact,
have seen results of your dreams brought to form, and you have been practicing living
them. Now, as the shimmer of the August moon stands out, a wave of new feelings will come
pouring forth.
Holly moon is bright, out front and energetic. She is the matured
essence of Alder and reminds you to stand up, be recognized and show off your talents.
Holly informs you that you are a true reflection of the Divine and asks if you would deny
the Divine Her opportunity to reign in this world through you. I'm certain you wouldn't
deny Her.
To follow the edict of Holly, you need fear nothing. You need to stand
in your personal power aligned with True Will (Your will and the Divine Will in union).
Affirm who you are. Express daily your reflection as the Great Mother. Let the Goddess,
WomanSpirit, see Herself in you: living, breathing, manifesting and revealing talents,
true wisdom, power and glory of the world.
Holly is a reflection of the essence of our new paradigm: to know that
we are light beings, divine in our own essence and need to live in this manner. Some
people want to know how, and Holly will truly reveal this to you.
As I danced with Holly in the first year of my moon journeys, I was
delighted at her attitude. I first approached her believing that she was still, quiet and
perhaps even asleep on her New Moon day. She let me know immediately that she is always
awake. "You think I sleep?" She questioned me. "I never sleep for I'm here
to serve the Great Goddess and all of Humanity. I am ever awake to Humanity's questions of
how: How do I do this? How do I meet this challenge? How do I ______?" Holly laughed
with joy. "I'm here to teach you all how.”
I was pretty excited that she could tell me how. How to achieve my
goals, deal with obstacles, whatever seemed to me to bring out the question of how do I do
that? As she showed me how, she also brought a very profound question for me to answer.
"Are you approachable?" She asked.
Approachable? Me? Of course. I like people to come and sit with me,
talk, share, and I love to provide any wisdom that I can. Holly asked me again (this time
with firmness in her essence) "Are you approachable?" Then she waved an energy
through my body/mind that allowed me to truly measure my approachability.
I felt the reality that I serve others, but often do not allow them to
serve me. I realized that I will share what will help others, but not completely share my
life and my processes, always believing that people are here for their own purposes, not
mine. OOPS! "I am not all that approachable," I answered.
From there Holly went to work to help others and me.
"Approachability is absolutely necessary in order to reveal your talents and receive
your rewards. If others cannot approach you, then the Universe can't approach you either.
It cannot flow through you, bringing you confidence, courage and the ability to really
display who you are and receive the gift of talents revealed."
Holly offers even greater wisdom as you live under her light this year.
She reminds you to not re-victimize yourself by repeating old stories of old wounds, i.e.
"My ex-husband was a pure jerk. He never gave me any child support." Or,
"My parents abused me, and I just keep feeling deprived and unable to express
myself.”
Holly calls you to attention and the power of your own will: the Will
to live as an Essential Being or continue to Live the old story through your Will to
Express as incapable. She asks that you stand up in the Will to Create or your Will to
fear your talents. In fact, Holly asks you to think of several ways you stand up in your
Will power. Do you live out your Will to be Intelligent or the Will to live in illusion?
Are you in the path of your Will to love yourself or the Will to love as someone else
expects you to? Are you in the state of your personal Will to live authentically or is
your Will to live through others? Do you defend your Will to live your truth or the Will
to remain unconscious to your personal requirements to live as a healthy, fruitful,
loving, talented person?
Holly is here to support you throughout the month of August. Are you
approachable? Are you living through your positive, knowing Will Power? Will you let Holly
show you how? Are you ready to reveal all your talents and be recognized for your
expression, as your-self, through your work, joy, love, and creative displays? Let Holly
teach you how to exhibit your talents. Let her teach you how to live an authentic reality.
Then your manifesting abilities will be ever stronger and form a natural foundation for
your life.
As Holly exuded energy throughout the first moon journeys I made, she
always was expressing jubilance. She was happy. She was joyful. She was unabashed. At her
demise she called me to her hour of dissolution and shared wisdom. "Do you know why I
am willing to be audacious? Do you know why I am filled with the joy of my Talent?"
She asked.
In truth, I only knew she was a lovely and joyful messenger of the
Universe. I had experienced many laughs during her reign in the night sky. "Holly,
why are you willing to be so audacious?" I asked.
"Because I love and honor our Great Mother, WomanSpirit. I am
honored to serve Her and reflect Her jubilance to the world. It is a great privilege to
walk this path for Her. It is my strength, my talent to reveal the How-to for others. It
is a talent I share with the Great Mother. May you always find the same sacred energy
within yourself."
Holly then left joyfully, and radiated peacefulness and confidence that
I know all people can use. May you be blessed by her gift as she brightens your August
days. May you find your Will to express your Essential Being and remember that you are a
carbon copy of the Great Mother.
