Let It Be Easy by Alan Cohen
We come to a principle which, if you can grasp and apply it, will change the entire way you work, live, and pray, and magnify your ability to manifest to an extraordinary degree. The concept may surprise you because it runs counter to nearly everything you and I have been taught about what it takes to succeed. Yet even a little application of this mystical truth will yield amazing practical results: To get what you want, ease works better than struggle. When you are in a state of struggle, you have lost your peace, do not see clearly, and you contract emotionally and physiologically, which clogs your lifeline to your intuition, your channel to success. When you are floundering, your need is not to work harder, but to work smarter. Survival of the fittest does not mean the biggest and brawniest will win; it means those who are aligned with the current point of evolution will emerge triumphant. As we hurtle into the millennium, spiritual wisdom is becoming more real and valuable than worldly manipulation. Get right with God by getting right with yourself, and you will get right with your world. To take a quantum leap toward changing your life, I dare you to take what may be the most significant leap of faith of your life: Let go of the struggle. Struggle was never Gods intention for Her children you and me. God established peace, fear invented struggle. Some religionists cite the wrath of God, bearing the old rugged cross, and holy war as attributes of advanced spirituality, while they are simply variations on the theme of learned terror. You cannot come to ease by practicing struggle, and neither can you arrive at peace by waging war. You make peace by being peaceful, and you bring about ease in your life by letting go now. Letting go of the struggle does not mean simply rolling over like a blob and becoming a lazy slug for the rest of your life. To the contrary, releasing self-inflicted struggle will free up so much energy within you that you will have phenomenal energy to do the things your heart truly desires. When you proceed from creativity rather than reactivity, you become a positive force for social change. I met an executive woman who was offered a position on a night shift, with an increase in her salary. While she had more leisure time during this shift, Donna Lynn noticed that the night cleaning crew was throwing away toilet paper rolls with toilet paper left on them. Donna Lynn felt this was a waste of a valuable resource that someone could use, so she collected these rolls and took them to a homeless shelter. She found her involvement with this charity so rewarding that she became a volunteer coordinator, and then took a salaried position as director of a city-wide volunteer agency. Donna Lynns work was so successful that she gained national prominence and received an outstanding service award that brought her to Washington D.C. where she was honored by President and Mrs. Clinton, and met several past U.S. Presidents and their spouses all as a result of a single spontaneous thought about a roll of toilet paper! Imagine that your inklings are Gods whispers to you; the same God that gave you the idea, will give you the means and support to see it through. Then every act that springs from your joyful vision will become a prayer that will bless the world forever. If you can grasp for just a moment that God does not want you to struggle, but takes the greatest delight in your peace, you are well on your way to the freedom you have sought. Experiment with letting your prayer time be easy and joyful, and then extend your attitude to the prayer of living your daily life. Relax your way into the Kingdom, and trust God to bring you your highest good. Then your life will be blessed with such delight that you will wonder why you ever thought that struggle would get you anything you wanted. All you ever wanted was love, and that is all that God has ever given you and will ever give you. When you have learned how to decide with God, all decisions
become as easy and as right as breathing. There is no effort, and you will be led as
gently as if you were being carried down a quiet path in summer. |
